Other SEO professionals study his work, and the industry’s most respected conferences keep inviting him back. Not as an attendee. As the one teaching the room.

10 Years of Retail Ownership Experience

Most SEO agencies have never run a retail business. Robert has done it multiple times, and built companies valuable enough to sell.

PC Fixer, founded 2001

A retail computer repair shop in West Los Angeles that Robert built into the “#1 Computer Repair Company in Los Angeles,” according to Expertise.com. It’s still running today under new ownership.

Tech Studio, founded 2012

A tech retail store on Abbot Kinney Boulevard, one of L.A.’s coolest retail streets. In 2018, a high-profile MedMen location opened next door. After being featured in Dwell and Surface Magazine, Robert accepted a generous buyout offer. It’s still running today.

Robert understands payroll, rent, inventory, overhead, staffing, slow days, customer trust, and the pressure to compete against larger companies with deeper pockets.

Selling a local business, especially one that continues to run for years afterward, is real proof that it was built right. Robert has done that twice.

Why Robert Built a Dispensary-Specific SEO System

Robert has been a cannabis cultivator, enthusiast, and legalization advocate since 1990. He was reading High Times and organizing with NORML decades before most people could even imagine walking into a store to buy cannabis.

When legal dispensaries finally became reality, he saw more than a cultural shift. He saw a new kind of local business facing industry-specific hardships that most SEO agencies didn’t understand.

Paid ads are heavily restricted, so finding new customers is difficult.

👥

MSOs and large chains have deeper pockets (and bigger discounts) than independents.

📍

Zoning laws crowd dispensaries, making local search extra-competitive.

These challenges make local SEO more important to dispensaries than almost any other type of local business. The problem is that most agencies still use the same playbook they would use for a plumber or a pizza shop.

In an effort to help his new dispensary clients, Robert started building creative new dispensary-specific SEO strategies that other agencies weren’t using. They all worked well individually, and he never paid much attention to the order he ran them in.

Then he checked the numbers on a campaign one morning and saw numbers that took even him by surprise. Rankings moving faster than they should. Traffic climbing ahead of schedule. Nothing in 18 years of SEO work had looked quite like this.

He spent the next few years reverse engineering what had happened, replicating it, and refining it.

🌿

This sequence, a repeatable system of local search,
content, and visibility work, is now known as the
Dispensary Domination System™.

Helping dispensaries isn’t a career pivot. It’s the work I actually wanted to do all along. I just didn’t know the industry would catch up to where my head already was.

The Dispensary
Domination System™

If you’re not at the top when customers search, they’ll buy from a different dispensary.

The Dispensary Domination System™ replaces generic local SEO with a process built for how dispensaries actually get found. It turns local search into store visits, delivery orders, and new customers.

How Dispensaries Benefit From The System

No Contracts

SEO takes time, but dispensaries shouldn’t have to sign away a year to find out if an agency is a fit. The Dispensary Domination System™ is pay-as-you-go. Cancel with 30 days’ notice. No lock-in.

Website Updates Included

Need to update holiday hours, swap a promotion banner, publish a blog post, add a landing page, or fix a common website issue? That work is handled as part of the SEO service. It’s included. The everyday website maintenance and blog content that keeps your site fresh and relevant is all part of the service.

No Vanity Metrics

Rankings and visits don’t pay the bills. Sales do. Robert treats conversion as a core metric, using page layout, word choice, and design details to help close the sale.

For example:

A green button usually outperforms a red one, since green says go and red says stop.

A button that bounces tends to convert better than one that jiggles left to right, likely because it mimics a nod rather than a shake of the head.

$

Even the size of a dollar sign matters. A smaller dollar sign next to a price can make the cost feel lower and increase sales.

Robert has spent years studying details like these. His online conversion optimization community has 12,400 active members, mostly marketers and business owners, who are there to learn and discuss how he thinks about conversion.

He applies that same precision to every page on a website, from layout to wording, so visitors don’t just browse. They buy.

Why It Works

The Dispensary Domination System™ is the culmination of Robert’s SEO experience, retail background, and passion for cannabis, built to help more ready-to-buy customers find your dispensary first, trust what they see, and make the purchase.

Robert was born and raised in Los Angeles, where he still lives today with his wife and two sons.

He has a home studio full of synthesizers and guitars, and a deep love of music that ranges from The Pixies to Mozart.

He’s been skateboarding for over 30 years, and still rides local skate parks on weekends. He mountain bikes with his family, sometimes logging 40 miles in a day, and tends his own garden, including a few cannabis plants of his own.

In 7th grade, he wrote a book about electronics because he wanted to understand how things worked. That curiosity never really found an off switch. He reads constantly, not just about marketing, but everything from physics to fiction, and is always chasing the next thing he doesn’t understand yet.

None of that is separate from the work. He notices the small things, in a garden, in a song, in a search result, that most people walk right past.
